What better way to start the fall season than to go on a shopping spree at Savers Thrift Store? Savers offers clothing and accessories for men, women and children, and household goods as well. This week, I was provided a $50 gift certificate to go shopping at Savers Thrift Store and get a sneak peek of the new Yorba Linda location before its grand opening on September 3rd.
As soon as I walked into the store, I noticed the Halloween section and there were tons of costumes for men, women and children. Savers is unique where the costumes are brand new, compared to other thrift stores. After some browsing, I found a mermaid tail in XL that fit me perfectly and was reasonably priced at $21.99. I know it’s a popular costume right now, so I didn’t think twice about it since I want to stand out this Halloween. I wanted to pair it with a muscle shirt that matched the turquoise color and I was able to find one in the women’s clothing section at a decent price for $2.99.
After I chose my costume set, I decided to look around the rest of the neatly organized store. One thing that stands out at Savers Thrift Store is that their clothing is organized by size, which makes it easier to find merchandise. I loved it! I looked at all the aisles, but mainly focused on finding sweaters, dresses and shirts. I was able to find a really pretty embroidered shirt at $3.99. Then I looked at the dress aisle and found a beautiful H&M dress with a skull painted on it with roses surrounding the skull. I had to buy it since I celebrate Day of the Dead with my family and this is the perfect outfit to wear for that day. It cost $9.99.
I’m so glad I was able to shop at Savers for my Fall needs. I now have an outfit for two separate holidays. I have my Halloween costume and I have my Day of the Dead dress. I’m very happy with my purchases. I had $10 left to shop so I decided to take a look at the appliances. Although I don’t have my own place yet, I decided to look at the appliances because I know my best friend has been looking for a television for her bedroom. I found a flat screen 12” Magnavox for only $9.99! It was a great purchase.
Savers in Yorba Linda was full of treasures and I cannot wait to shop there again. I had to make some tough choices because I wanted everything! The great thing about Savers in Yorba Linda is that it gives back to the community with every purchase you make. They have partnered with the nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and hope to increase the amount of kids served from 2,700 children in 2014 to 3,000 in 2015.
