Grinchmas arrives at Universal Studios Hollywood

Grinchmas arrives at Universal Studios Hollywood

When we think of Hollywood, we think of movie stars, movie sets… movies, movies, movies! And that’s exactly the experience that Universal Studios Hollywood gives us – especially when it comes to Grinchmas. It’s like stepping right into “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch How Stole Christmas.”

Grinchmas at Universal Studios Hollywood

We spent the day at Universal Studios Hollywood over the weekend enjoying Grinchmas. In 2022, it is daily from November 25 through January 1, 2023. It’s a HUGE deal. It’s literally like stepping into the set – characters included. They’re makeup is on point, and don’t worry if you stare – they totally get it.

If you’re looking for all the Grinchmas craziness, you’ll find it at Universal Plaza. The plaza has been transformed into Whoville for their Whobilation. There you’ll find an array of activities, backdrops and photo opportunities at every turn. It’s so much fun to walk around and discover something new.

Who-ville Post Office

Visitors will have a chance to partake in the “Grow Your Hearts 3 Sizes” campaign when they share their good deeds on a postcard and mail them to The Grinch. In return, Random House Children’s Books, the publishers of Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, will pay it forward by donating a book to a child in need through First Book on behalf of the sender.

Aside from Universal Plaza, you’ll also want to take the Studio Tour because you’ll get the chance to enjoy a close-up view of the original Who-ville film sets and a one-of-a-kind performance by unforgettable Who-ville Whos re-enacting popular scenes and songs from the family favorite.

The ultimate must-have picture is the gigantic “Grinchmas” tree – a whimsical centerpiece twisting and spiraling 60 feet. It’s so ridiculously amazing, and you HAVE to come back in the evening to see it lit. It happens every 30 minutes starting at 5 p.m.

And the one thing that is well worth the wait? A picture with The Grinch and his adorable dog Max. It’s about a 60 minute wait, so be prepared.

There are also musical numbers performed by Martha May Who-vier and the Who Dolls, and later in the afternoon, The Wholiday Singers—a hip boy-band ensemble. Catch all of this and other attractions, like Super Silly Fun Land and Minion Mayhem – the kids will LOVE it!

During our visit, we made this video of what you can expect during Grinchmas at Universal Studios Hollywood – because sometimes pictures aren’t enough.

“Grinchmas” is included in the price of theme park admission. More information is available at www.UniversalStudiosHollywood.com.
