How to make the best playdough
Making playdough is something that every parent needs to do at some point in their lives. The stuff they sell at the store is not nearly as good as this homemade play dough (and it definitely doesn’t smell as delicious as kool-aid). It’s super affordable to make too. All you need is a little bit of time. Here are my top three favorite recipes for making your own playdough.
How to make the best playdough
Kool-aid Dough
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups of flour or more
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 tbsp. cream of tarter
- 2 pkg. of Kool-aid
- 3 tbsp. of oil
- 2 cups of water
Directions
- Boil water and add to kool-aid in a large bowl.
- Stir in oil and add in remaining ingredients until a ball forms.
- Knead until smooth.
Vinegar Dough
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1/4 cup oil
- 2 tbsp vinegar
Directions
- Mix all ingredients together. If dough seems dry, add more water.
- Knead well.
- Keep unrefrigerated in a plastic container. Add water if dry.
Cooked Dough
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup salt
- 4 tbsp cream of tarter
- 2 tbsp oil and food coloring OR 1 package jello
Directions
- Mix all ingredients together in a large saucepan.
- Cook over low heat until mixture forms a soft ball.
- Remove from pan and knead.
- Store in a plastic container.
