Easy back to school lunches for kids
Back-to-school time will be here before you know it. Pretty soon, you’ll be back to your old routine in packing lunches, getting backpacks ready, organizing carpools and so on. So this year, why not have quick and easy back to school lunches in the cupboard so you can get everyone out the door on time (even when you’re running late).
We stopped by Big Lots to pick up some school lunches essentials. We walked the aisles and saw that they have a great selection of products (including name brand products) that I knew my kids would love to devour.
Back to school lunch #1
- Flour tortilla wrap with string cheese and spinach
- Raisins
- Chocolate wafers
- Nesquik Strawberry Milk
Back to school lunch #2
- Almond butter and jam sandwiches on hawaiian rolls
- String cheese
- All natural applesauce
- Nesquik Chocolate Milk
Back to school lunch #3
- Ritz crackers topped with slices of cheese
- Olives
- Grapefruit bowls
- Fruit rolls
- Juicy Juice box
Each of these lunches takes just minutes to throw together in the lunch box, and they’re kid-approved! I know… because it’s what my kids eat. We especially go through tons of Juicy Juice boxes. With so many varieties nowadays, it’s easy to keep them in rotation.
Of course, kids also need some snacks throughout the day to tie them over. My kids get really cranky when they’re hungry – which might make learning more difficult. So we also picked up some snack essentials and I stick those in our snack drawer. The kids get to choose their snack for the day, which is nice because it gives them control over what they eat. This also ensures that they’ll actually eat the snack that they choose out.
I’m very happy with the food options that I picked up. A good mix of organic, regular and all-natural options that I know my kids love, and at prices that relieve my boxed-food conscience.
To finish up these back to school lunches, I suggest that you also include some fresh fruits and veggies. Have a great school year!
