I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Boys and Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
Growing up as a latch-key kid in a low-income neighborhood meant that I was pretty much on my own when it came to finding good influences. As an adult, I’m thankful that I was able to take advantage of certain programs that came to my neighborhood to help out in this department, such as the Boys & Girls Club. One Summer, the Boys & Girls Club decided to bus my neighborhood’s kids to a local center – FREE OF CHARGE. This act made a big impact on me and I’ll always remember it.
During this holiday time when I’m trying to give my family the best holiday ever, I also think about other families that are in the same situation that I was in years ago and I set something aside for them. This season, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America is hosting their 3rd annual BGCA Give the Gift of a Great Future Holiday Campaign. Visit the site to vote in the Kids Give Back contest and create holiday gift tags with the Gift Tag Generator. Go even further and learn the Gift-of-Giving tips to inspire your kids to make a difference in your community. Check out your local Boys & Girls Club website and find other ways to make a difference in your community.
