Microneedling before and after with PRP results after my second treatment

The first time I had Microneedling with PRP (platelet rich plasma) was almost three years ago. That was the first time that I had done a facial procedure that gave me real results. Before going to CosmetiCare, I had tried creams, laser facials, regular facials, medication… basically every other alternative available to me as a Latina woman with olive-toned skin.

Microneedling with PRP came as a recommendation from an expert at CosmetiCare who suggested that I try it to treat acne scars, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, sun damaged, large pores, and uneven skin texture. I was all game and seven days after my first procedure I was a believer.

This second time around I was determined to get it done at CosmetiCare once again. I had come across other articles online of horror stories that other patients had encountered when doing their microneedling with PRP treatment. I chose to return to CosmetiCare because the office has everything that I expect from a well-known and respected med spa – sanitary procedures, trained staff and past clients with proven results. 

The CosmetiCare staff does a great job at keeping everything above board and being transparent with their procedures. The technician goes over each step while it’s being done and they describe the benefit of each step. I also like seeing that each tool is left unopened until it’s ready to be used during the procedure. Nothing is reused from a previous procedure. 

This second treatment was much like my first time, but this time my scars weren’t as deep or apparent as before – though I still have a long ways to go until I have the soft skin that I’ve always longed for. 

I also chose to have PRP along with my microneedling treatment to speed up the healing process and really get the most out of the procedure. This last step is pretty painless and I would highly recommend that you add it to your treatment. Just make sure you ask for it when you book your CosmetiCare appointment.

And now on to the good stuff. You won’t see true results until about a month after the procedure. Keep in mind that the results are permanent, and that makes it worth every penny. The week following the procedure (or in my case, much of the time), you’ll have to stay out of the sun. You’ll also need to gently wash your face and apply Alastin Skincare Regenerating Skin Nectar to help your skin heal. After about a month… you’ll have visible results that will make you want to book another microneedling with PRP appointment.

The following pictures are my before and afters. The one on the left hand side were taken the day of the procedure. The ones on the right hand side were taken about a month after the procedure. I’m not wearing makeup in either picture, nor do I have any fillers or anything similar to that. 

I am super happy with the results, and to be honest, I find myself wearing even less makeup than before. I apply moisturizer with sunscreen and then a tinted moisturizer above that. Other than that, I don’t do much else. I do still have oily skin, so I’ll use blotting sheets to take away some of the oil throughout the day. 

Microneedling with PRP has not only changed the way my skin looks, but it has changed the way I feel. I’m a lot more confident in my skin and I feel good even when I’m not wearing makeup. That’s not something I could have said even three years ago. I love that I can get this procedure done more than once, and that I’ll continue to see results after each session.
