Life in Orange County

An unforgettable moment at Disneyland

Last month the family and I were at Disneyland. The baby had been battling a fever for two days and was FINALLY at the stage where he was functioning. We decided to pack him up bright and early and we headed to Disneyland Resort to celebrate Halloween Time.

As part of Family Blogger day, our family was invited to a lunch at 10 a.m. We hadn’t ate, we had gone on a few rides and we were all ready for some food. They served some delicious pretzels, apples, pumpkin muffins, cotton candy and popcorn. Lots of popcorn and lots of candy corn cotton candy.

Not wanting to get into an argument with the baby, I fed him whatever he wanted. He wanted candy corn cotton candy, he got it. He wanted water. He got it. He wanted a box of popcorn. He got it. He spent 30 minutes stuffing his face with food. Lots of food.

At this point, hubster walks out of the venue for a bathroom break and the five year old is in line to get his face painted. My bestie and I are talking and then it happens. Baby pukes everywhere. It was so gross. So I see that he’s starting to throw up and I put the popcorn box in front of him so he can throw up in there and he shoves it out of his face. No, this baby would rather throw up all over himself, his clothes, shoes and stroller. Oh… and floor! In.the.middle.of.the.event. It was ridiculous and so incredibly embarrassing.

I’m so glad that I had someone there with me. Jill helped me clean up the big ol’ mess that the baby made and blocked me in with the strollers so that I could change the baby out of his dirty clothes. We asked the local workers to help us clean up the mess and they did. They placed a big black trash bag over the mess while more workers gathered around to help. Wipes. Yes. We needed a lot of them. The Huggies Natural Care Wipes with new triple clean layers helped me wipe up the baby without having to make the trek to the restroom and get the mess all over myself and my white DVF blouse.

As it turns out, I only needed three wipes to clean him up (because they are so absorbent you know).   We spent the rest of the day at the parks without another incident and had a great time. I was happy that I was totally prepared with a change of clothes (which I don’t usually carry with me) and wipes. And now we have a story to tell. Yay us!
