Pasta de Lassar – A Review

I received a few bottles of Pasta de Lassar, the leading multi-purpose zinc oxide skin protectant in Mexico, to use on the baby and protect again diaper rashes. My babies seem to have extremely sensitive skin. My oldest, at 4.5 years old, still has eczema issues and his skin gets super dry and even cracks and bleeds. My youngest doesn’t seem to take to any cheap body washes or lotions. Right now we’re using Aveeno Body Wash.

I was concerned and skeptical that Pasta de Lassar would work on my kids because they have such sensitive skin. I started using it on the little one, applying a little bit of it as a diaper rash cream. Then one night I put him in the bath and noticed that he had this crazy red rash all on his back and his little butt. I, of course, freaked out thinking that he must be allergic to the laundry detergent, body wash or who knows what else. I washed him down and then put some of the Pasta de Lassar on him hoping and crossing my fingers that it would do what it said it did on the box. Here’s what it looked like before. Take note that I took this picture in his room and it was a bit dark, but you can still see the red rash. You can also see how it’s bumpy and raised. Poor baby was scratching like he had ants on him.

Then I put the Pasta de Lassar. I applied enough to cover the area (it’s thick and creamy and goes on like sunscreen).

In the morning I woke up to this:

Most of the rash was gone. What was left was the marks he made having been scratching his butt and behind the day before. The white stuff on his skin is the Pasta de Lassar that wasn’t absorbed into his skin. I left it on there and by the evening his skin had cleared up.

So while I don’t use Pasta de Lassar as a diaper rash cream religiously, I ALWAYS pull it out to rub on the kids whenever they have a rash, their skin breaks out because it’s super dry, or when I catch them scratching their delicate skin.

I like that quality products from across the border are coming this way because it opens up the options that we have when shopping for products. You’ll start seeing Pasta de Lassar everywhere pretty soon and you can say that you heard about it here first!
