How to Make El Amerikano’s Al Pastor Glaze

I had the pleasure of visiting El Amerikano in Fullerton, California a few nights ago. It was the perfect date night with the hubster where I had the opportunity to try some delicious new dishes like Mole Eggplant and Warm Mushroom Salad. Of course, there were many meat dishes available too, one of them being Al Pastor Chop that consisted of a pork chop, al pastor glaze and farro salad. It looked like something that my mom would make.

As the evening drew to a close, Chef Dino Marougas showed us how they make the al pastor glaze – from scratch! It’s clearly a labor of love, a common theme that we see throughout their dishes.

I can’t wait to go back with the kids so I can try some of their desserts! Visit El Amerikano and try the Al Pastor Chop next time you’re in the Fullerton area. More info: http://elamerikano.com.
