How to make a Berry Sexy Vanilla Sunrise cocktail

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Latina Bloggers Connect and SlimFast.

Squeeze the last bit of Summer out with this delicious (and sexy) “skinny” cocktail featuring SlimFast ready-made shakes.

I’m a sucker for a cocktail. In fact, this past weekend my sister-in-law and I spent about two hours creating our own drinks using ingredients we had on hand.

Seeing that we had a SlimFast french vanilla shake in the fridge, we decided to put it to good use and mix it up to create this Berry Sexy Vanilla Sunrise. It tasted as good as it looks – AND, it wasn’t a cocktail that I felt guilty drinking (140 calories for one serving).

Want to make your own Berry Sexy Vanilla Sunrise cocktail? Here’s the recipe:

  • 2 oz SlimFast French Vanilla Shake
  • 1 oz white rum OR 1 oz. raspberry rum
  • 1/3 C. frozen mixed berries (I used fresh blueberries)
  • 1-2 pieces of fresh ginger – to taste
  • 1 tsp agave syrup or 1 tsp honey (I used honey)
  • 1 ice cube; Add more as needed for smooth consistency
  • Additional berries for garnish

and then you: Blend It. Serve It. Work It.

This delish recipe was created exclusively for SlimFast by DR Mixologist, Darryl Robinson, host of “Drink up” on The Cooking Channel. I personally liked it because it tastes of Summer with low guilt.
